NORTHFIELD, Minn. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls volleyball team finished out the St. Olaf Invite going 1-1 on Saturday. In game one of the day against Carleton, the Falcons fell in four sets going 22-25, 17-25, 25-23, 21-25. The Falcons bounced back in match two taking down Macalester in four.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST CARLETON
- The Falcons struggled against the Knights offensively hitting a weekend low .050.
- In the first set the Knights, came out on fire scoring five points before the Falcons would scratch back battling to a 22-25 set loss.
- The Falcons picked up a win in the third set after tying it up 22-22 and finishing off the set 25-23.
- Offensively the Falcons had 41 kills in 139 attempts but had 34 errors.
- Amara Meyer led the Falcons with 14 kills and hit .218 in 32 attempts. She recorded four block and four aces.
- Savannah Brauer had a game hitting .429.
- The Falcon defense combined for 63 digs. Hannah Robb was strong in defense digging out 24 balls. Dakotah Poitra helped her out with 15 digs led the Falcons with 11 digs.
- As a team the Falcons finished the match with twelve service aces.
THE OPPOSITION
- The Knights out hit the Falcons .147 to .050.
- The Knights were led offensively and defensively by Abby Loe who had a game high 15 kills and 15 digs

WHAT HAPPENED
- In the first set the Falcons took charge outhitting the Scots .387 to .152. and winning the set 25-16.
- The second set was the best set of the weekend for the Falcons as they hit and impressive .529 and had an eight point run.
- Overall the Falcons hit .246 compared the Scots .092.
- The Falcons combined for a total 51 kills in 122 attempts.
- Amara Meyer continued to shine offensively putting up a match high 13 kills and hitting .435. She also had two services aces.
- Samantha Garvin helped on the offense contributing 11 kills and hitting .261.
- Defensively Hannah Robb had 18 digs and Dakotah Poitra recorded 16.
THE OPPOSITION.
- The Scots were led offensively by India Medaris who had 11 kills and Sofia Parmalee who had 8 kills and hit .313.
- Medaris also carried the Scots defensively getting 14 digs.
LOOKING AHEAD
- The Falcons travel to Hamline University Wednesday evening to take on Crown College and Hamline in a triangular that is set to start at 6 pm.
