Meaghan Koski was hired as the UW-River Falls head men's and women's cross country coach in July of 2022.

At the 2025 WIAC Cross Country Championships, the Falcon women placed fourth while the men finished seventh, marking the best conference finish for both programs since 2017. The men’s seventh-place finish was highlighted by Jack Richter, who moved into third all-time in program history, later earning All-Region honors. On the women’s side, Laina Viere earned All-WIAC and All-Region recognition while qualifying for the NCAA Championships. Throughout the season, the Falcon top-20 list was heavily rewritten with several athletes recording new personal-best performances and moving into the program record book.

During the 2025-26 track & field season, the Falcons continued rewriting the distance record books. Ryan Pierson broke the program record in the 10,000 meters and now holds the fastest time in school history, while Tyler Parker moved into second all-time in the 800 meters. Multiple Falcon distance athletes also moved into the program’s all-time top-10 lists throughout the indoor and outdoor seasons.

In her first year as head coach in 2022, each athlete raced to their personal bests throughout the cross country season. Both the men and the women’s teams cut off over a minute off their team average. On the track side, the personal bests continued and saw junior Cailyn Kuechle and freshman Logan Munson move into the outdoor track & field UWRF top-10 lists in the 800m run.

Before coming to UWRF, she served over two years at the University of Nebraska Omaha as an assistant cross country and track & field coach. While there, she navigated the COVID-19 pandemic and assisted head coach, Cliff Cisar, to improve some of their all time top-10 lists. Koski also spent time coaching at the University of South Alabama as a volunteer assistant coach while pursuing a master's degree in sport management, and at Holy Family High School in Victoria, Minn. She has also participated in the USTFCCCA Female Coaching Mentorship Program and is Level I Technical Track & Field certified.

A native of Minnetonka, Minn., Koski attended Minnetonka High School where she was a part of state championship teams as a junior and senior. She went on to compete for Minnesota-Duluth and was a nine-time All-Conference honoree as a member of the Bulldogs' cross country and track & field teams. She was a two-time All-Region award winner and earned All-American status at the 2017 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships. Koski graduated from UMD in 2018 with a degree in Communication.

Outside of coaching, Meaghan continues her own running career and has completed five marathons, including the Boston Marathon. Her personal best time is 2:57:49 which she raced in June of 2023 at Grandmas Marathon in Duluth. Meaghan and her husband welcomed their first child, Stanley, to their family this year along with their dog, Millie.Â
