Stevens Point, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The #4 seeded UW-River Falls men's basketball team traveled to take on the #2 seeded UW-Stevens Point in the WIAC Tournament Championship game on Sunday afternoon. The Falcons came out strong in the first half and led 23-21 at the half, but the Pointers got hot and hit some big baskets in the second half to pull away for the 59-44 win. The fate of the Falcon's season now rests in the hands of the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee.

WHAT HAPPENED
- The Pointers opened the game on a 7-0 run after a Canon O'Heron lay up just three minutes into the game.
- The Flacons would answer with a run of their own. After a Brennan Witt layup, The Falcons scored their 11th consecutive point to take an 11-7 lead.
- The action went back and forth from there until the end of the first half. A Julian Jackson dunk put the Falcons up 18-16 with three minutes remaining in the first half.
- An Austin Moldenhauer bomb from beyond the arc with just under a minute to play in the half put the Falcons up 23-16.
- Stevens Point had a solid last minute capped off by a buzzer beater three pointer from MJ Delmore to get the Pointers within two points to end the half. Halftime score: UWRF 23, UWSP 21.
- The second half picked up right where the first half ended, back and forth action saw the Falcons maintain their two-point lead after Brennan Witt knocked down a pair of free throws to give the Falcons a 33-31 lead at 15:28 of the second half.
- The Pointers started to show their strength with about ten minutes to play in the game. A three pointer from Drew Fredrickson put the Pointers on top by a score of 43-38 with eight minutes to play.
- Another shot from beyond the arc would fall for the Pointer's MJ Delmore just a minute and a half later to extend the Stevens Point lead to 48-40 with 6:48 to play.
- The Pointers would never look back. Behind some big shots made and some turnovers from the Falcons, the Pointers pulled away down the stretch beating River Falls by a final of 59-44.

- Brennan Witt led the Falcons with 11 points and was 5-5 from the free throw line.
