HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST UW-STEVENS POINT
  • Play early in the first period was very controlled by both sides.
  • The Pointers went on the power play as Payton Rudiger was called for tripping at the 4:45 mark. UW-Stevens Point would only manage one shot on goal for the power play, and it was their last shot on goal for the period.
  • The Falcons would outshoot the Pointers 15-0 the rest of the period. UW-River Falls would capitalize on one of those shots as Bella Wagner would score her first of the season on the power play.
  • The Falcons out shot the Pointers 17-2 for the period.
  • UW-River Falls would strike early, and often, in the 2nd period to pull away from UW-Stevens Point. The first Falcon goal of the period was scored by Kathryn Larson off a designed face-off play. She skated in alone from the red alone, and deked the goaltender for her 11th of the season.
  • A 1:38 later Carly Moran skated in 2 on 1 with Callie Hoff, and beat Conley bar down for a 3-0 Falcon lead.
  • A little bit later, with the Pointers on the Power Play, Carly Moran would out race the Pointer defense to a loose puck at center ice.  She skated in, and put the shot five-hole on Conley for a 4-0 lead.
  • Sydney Conley was pulled for Marit Larson at this point.
  • The Falcons outshot the Pointers 13-6 for the period.
  • In the 3rd period the Falcons pulled away with five goals in the period.
  • With a delayed penalty call on the Pointers coming.  Sam Young poked home a loose puck in the crease for a 5-0 lead.
  • Just over four minutes later a loose puck in the neutral zone made its way through a couple of Pointer players, and Sam Young skated in on a partial breakaway.  She scored her 2nd of the game, and her 9th of the season. The Falcons now lead 6-0.
  • Less than a minute later Amy Auran skated in on Marit Larson on a breakaway from the red-line in.  She wristed a shot past Larson glove side for 7-0 lead.
  • Callie Hoff would push the lead to 8-0 as she wristed a shot past Larson off of a face-off.
  • Jessie Andersen finished the scoring for the Falcons, as she poked home the puck off a scramble in the crease for a 9-0 lead.
  • UW-River Falls out shot Stevens Point 13-3 in the 3rd period.
  • Tatyana Delaittre finished the game with 11 saves.
