RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's volleyball team faced off against No. 7 UW-Whitewater in a WIAC conference battle that went four sets. The Falcons fell 1-3 (22-25, 12-25, 25-16, 13-25) but gave the Warhawks a battle.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST UW-WHITEWATER
- In a close set one, the Falcons fell 22-25 but hit .290 (13-4-31) as a team.
- Set two was controlled by the Warhawks as they hit .571 and won the set 25-12
- The Falcons got the win in set three hitting .348 (9-1-23) and shutting the Warhawk offense down to a simple .061 hitting percentage.
- Overall the Falcons hit .164 (39-21-110).
- Offensively the Falcons were led by Hannah Striggow who had ten kills and hit .273. Dakotah Poitra had eight kills and hit .227.
- Karli Nielsen hit and impressive .429 (6-0-14).
- Hannah Robb had 16 digs
THE OPPOSITION
- The Warhawks hit .343 against the Falcons and had 49 total kills.
- Courtney Wagner led the Warhawks with 12 kills and seven blocks.
- Defensively Elizabeth Tworek had 12 digs and Brittany Robinson had 11.
LOOKING AHEAD
- The Falcons travel to Eau Claire, Wis. Friday Oct. 6th to complete in the Sandy Schumacher Memorial Tournament hosted by UW-Eau Claire. They will being tournament play Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. against the Big Blue of Millikin University. The Big Blue are currently ranked No. 12 in the AVCA Coaches Poll.
