RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's volleyball team opened up WIAC conference play with a 1-3 (15-25, 25-20, 16-25, 21-25) loss to UW-Eau Claire on the road.
THE RUNDOWN:

WHAT HAPPENED:
- In the first set the Falcons would put the first point on the board but the Blugolds would take charge of things winning the set 25-15.
- The Falcons bounced back in set two leading from the start and finishing out with a 25-20 win. They hit .294 in the set and had 13 kills.
- In set three the Blugolds were just too much offensively hitting .355 and having a match high 14 kills in the set.
- Set four was a back and forth battle between the two teams with the Blugolds coming out ahead 25-21.
- As a team the Falcon hit .125 (36-21-120).
- Hannah Striggow led the Falcons offensively hitting .233 with 12 kills and two service aces.
- Amara Meyer had five kills and five block assists.
- Hannah Robb had a match high 23 digs. Mallory Griffin and Dakotah Poitra each had nine.
- Hailey Huseth had 25 assists.
THE OPPOSITION:
- The Blugolds hit .223 as a team (50-21-130.
- Madelyn Pashibin led the offense with a match high 17 kills.
- Talia Jaskulske had 20 digs.
LOOKING AHEAD:
- The Falcons now 12-4 on the season travel to Ripon College for the Red Hawk Invite. The first match will be against Ripon College Friday evening at 7 p.m.
