ST. PETER, Minn. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's basketball team had a rough third quarter in a non-conference game against the 12
th ranked Gustavus Adolphus College Gusties Thursday evening. The Falcons fell 50-71 in the matchup.

WHAT HAPPENED
- The Falcons started the game with a jumper by Jaycie Gerding to give them their first lead of the game. They would finish the first quarter up 12-9.
- The game was neck and neck throughout the first half with multiple lead changes happening before the Gusties tied it up at 8:28 in the second quarter and took control of the game.
- At the halftime break the Gusties led 27-24. Taylor Karge had six points in the first half on 3-4 shooting from the floor.
- The Gusties started the second half with a seven point run before the Falcons would score three and try to keep up.
- The Gusties would not allow a Falcon comeback and put together a 13-0 run in the third quarter to give themselves a 20 point lead.
- Taylor Karge broke up the Gustavus offense and scored four points and got the Falcons within sixteen at the end of the quarter.
- The fourth quarter started with a three pointer by Mikayla Miller and the Gusties cruised the rest of the way to the win.
IN-DEPTH LOOK
- Taylor Karge had a team high 14 points on 4-8 shooting. She was 6-8 from the charity stripe.
- Crystal Pearson came off the bench for ten points and six rebounds. She was 4-6 from the floor and 1-3 from beyond the arc.
- As a team, UWRF shot 17-43 (39.5 percent) from the floor, 3-13 (23.1 percent) from the arc and 13-17 (76.5 percent) from the line.
THE OPPOSITION
- The Gusties had three players with double digit points. Miranda Rice led the way with 28 points on 10-15 shooting. She was 8-11 from the line and added eight rebounds
- Mikayla Miller scored 13 points as the next highest Gustie scorer. Two of her three field goals coming from beyond the arc. She added six rebounds.
- Taylor Anderson was 3-6 from the floor and 2-2 from the line for ten points.
- From the floor, the Gusties shot 20-49 (40.8 percent) and made five of their 18 three pointers.
- The Gusties forced he Falcons to 23 turnover, which they turned into 26 points.
