Box Score 2 ST. PAUL, Minn. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's volleyball team had a quick turnaround from last night's away conference match at UW-Oshkosh to today's triangular versus St. Mary's University and host Northwestern-St. Paul. The Falcon's did not seem to have an issue however beating St. Marys in match one 3-1. In match two, the Falcons went up against the Eagles of Northwestern who are currently ranked No. 7. The Eagles took the match 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ST. MARYS
- The Cardinals got the first set win (25-17) but the Falcons took care of things after that winning sets two, three and four (25-17, 28-26, 25-20).
- The Falcons had an impressive set three where they had 17 kills and hit .382. They won the set 28-26.
- Amara Meyer and Karli Nielsen each had 12 kills for the Falcons. Nielsen hit a team high and match high of .500. She also had six block assists.
- Hannah Robb the backbone of the Falcon defense had 14 of the Falcons 36 digs.
- Overall the Falcons hit .180 (47-25-122) compared to the Cardinals .107 (41-28-122). They also out-served the Cardinals 8-3 in service aces.
THE OPPOSITION
- Brandi Blattner led the Cardinals with 12 kills but also led the team in attack errors with 11.
- Clare Tack had 15 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST NORTHWESTERN
- The Falcons struggled to shut down the offense of the No. 7 Eagles that posted 39 kills and hit .378 in the match.
- In set one, the Eagles went on an elven point run that the Falcons could not recover from and the Falcons ended up dropping the first set 10-25.
- In set three the Falcons were able to produce a little more offensively hitting .242 and having a match high 12 kills. They kept the score within five only dropping the set 20-25.
- Dakotah Poitra was the top performer offensively for the Falcons with 11 kills. She also had five digs.
- Amara Meyer had nine kills and had a match high .471 hitting percentage. She also had two blocks.
- Hannah Robb dug out 11 digs and had the only Falcon service ace.
THE OPPOSITION
- Lindsey hit an insane .789 with 15 kills and no errors. The all-around player also had two service aces, three blocks and a team high 11 digs.
- The Eagles hit .378 (39-8-82) as a team.
LOOKING AHEAD
- The Falcons travel to the College of St. Scholastica for a triangular that includes the hosting Saints as well as Bethany Lutheran. The first match will take place on Oct. 21st at 3 p.m.
