Box Score RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's soccer game took on a tough test in St. Benedict on Sunday afternoon falling 3-0 at Ramer Field. The Falcons had more shots on goal than the Blazers, but couldn't convert a goal.

WHAT HAPPENED
- The Falcons had two shots on goal in the first eight and a half minutes, both were saved by St. Benedict.
- After the first period of play, with the score tied 0-0, UWRF and St. Benedict each had three saves, with the Blazers having nine shots and the Falcons having five.
- In the second half, the Falcons put a flurry of shots on with four coming in a two minute period. Two were saved, one was high, and another was blocked and the score remained 0-0.
- The first goal of the game did not come until minute 70. The Blazers got a goal from Taylor Hedin, her fourth of the season.
- St. Benedict kept the pressure on, two shots later, they scored again in the 83rd minute to extend their lead to 2-0.
- The Blazers got one last goal in the 89th minute, again by Hedin, her fifth goal of the season.
- UWRF started Haley Crosby in goal, her first collegiate start. She registered four saves in 90 minutes of play.
- Junior Abby Soderholm led the Falcons offensive attack putting four shots up, three of which were on goal.
- There were no penalties in the game for either team.
THE OPPOSITION
- Hedin scored two goals in the game for St. Benedict, her first multiple goal game this season.
- St. Benedict has scored seven goals in their past two games.
- The Blazers took a total of 17 shots in the game, seven of which were on goal.
- Kendall Koenen and Heather Kaluzniak each played one half to combine for the shutout. Koenen had six saves, Kaluzniak registered three.
LOOKING AHEAD
UW-River Falls will look for their first win against Saint Mary's University (Minn.) on the road. The game is set to begin in Winona, Minnesota at 7 p.m. on September 21
st. The Falcons defeated Saint Mary's in 2015 by a score of 2-0. The all-time series record is 6-2 in favor of the Falcons.
