University of Wisconsin River Falls Head Coach
Jeff Berkhof is pleased to announce seven student-athletes who plan to join the Falcons for the up coming 2010-11 season.
“Our recruiting class has a nice balance to it with three transfers and four incoming freshmen. We're very confident that all three transfers will make an immediate impact for us and the freshmen have the ability to have great careers at UW-River Falls. We're very excited that these individuals have decided to join our basketball program and help us rise to the top of arguably one of the best conferences in the country. “
Shane Manor - Jr. – 6-5 – UW-Superior/ Altoona HS (Altoona, Wis.)
Shane Manor joins the Falcons after playing two seasons at UW-Superior. During his sophomore season he averaged 11 points per game and earned honorable mention to the All-WIAC team as a freshman. The Altoona, Wis., native helped the Railroaders to the 2005-06 state semi-finals and was the Cloverbelt Conference MVP during his senior season.
UT Udo – Jr. – 6-3 – Univ. of Mary/ Minnetonka High School (Minnetonka, Minn.)
UT Udo transfers to UWRF from the University of Mary where he played for two seasons. He was voted newcomer of the year his freshman year. In 2007-08 he helped the Minnetonka Skippers to a 28-3 record and a Class 4A Championship Title.
Brian Kimble – Jr. – 6-0 – College of the Canyons/ Hart High School (Newhall, Calif.)
Brian Kimble joins the Falcons after a solid career at College of the Canyons Junior College in Santa Clarita, Calif. He averaged 13 points per game and started in all 28 games in 2009-10. He was a two-year All Conference selection in the Western State Conference. During his senior season at Hart High School he was the MVP of the Foothill Conference.
Terry Glass – Fr.– 5-9- Robbinsdale Copper High School (New Hope, Minn.)
Terry Glass joins the Falcons after helping Cooper High School to a 25-4 record and a North Suburban Conference championship. He was also selected to the all-conference teams in football and track and field in 2009-10.
Ian Berg – Fr. – 6-2 – Sibley East High School (Arlington, Minn.)
Ian Berg comes to the Falcons after completing his high school career at Sibley East High School. Berg led his team to a state tournament appearance in 2010 and was a two-time Minnesota River All-Conference player. He was also selected to the 2009-10 All-State Honorable Mention team.
Taylor Peterson – Fr. – 6-3 – Conant High School (Roselle, Ill.)
Taylor Peterson joins the Falcons after being named the Conant Cougars Most Valuable Player and leading his team to the Mid-Suburban League Championship. He was a four-year starter, was named to the All-Mid-Suburban League team and earned honorable mention to the Daily Herald All-Area squad.
Ryan Vikesland – Fr. – 6-4 – Bloomington Kennedy High School (Bloomington, Minn.)
At Bloomington Kennedy High School
Ryan Vikesland averaged 15 points a game during his senior year. He was selected to the all-conference team in the Lake Conference and was a two- year starter for the Eagles.
The Falcons open their season Nov. 16 when they host Viterbo University at 7 p.m., at the Karges Center.
