The Falcon volleyball team will host its Dig For The Cure match on Wednesday, Oct. 20 when UWRF hosts UW-Eau Claire at the Karges Center. Action starts at 7 p.m.
"We are very excited to host its third Dig for the Cure event. Dig for the Cure is huge event for our team, it gives us a chance to bring Breast Cancer Awareness to our campus and community. This is our way of showing support for all who have been touched by this disease and the importance of giving and fighting for others who are in need," said Falcon Coach Patti Ford.
Events at this year's River Falls-Eau Claire match include a silent auction, a guess the digs contest and a pink lemonade stand. Proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation which is dedicated to education and research about causes, treatment and finding a cure for breast cancer.
Over the past two seasons, Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference teams have raised $33,751 in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.
Last year UWRF raised $4,147 during its Dig For The Cure events.
